Hi, I am Ms. Teejay

I’m a believer. A survivor, and a soul still healing.

I’m a follower of Christ with a profound story of redemption and renewal. After surviving 25 years of trauma, I reached a breaking point in 2019. I stood on the edge, convinced that ending my life was the only way to escape the pain. But in that darkest hour, the light of God pierced through.

He didn’t just rescue me. He gave me a new purpose to live.

The Birth of SoulHygiene

From that sacred turning point, SoulHygiene was born, not as a brand, but as a lifeline. I needed a way to sit with God, name my pain, detox emotionally, and rebuild piece by piece. I began journaling, praying, crying, releasing, and learning how to care for my soul like I did my body. It became a spiritual hygiene practice… and it saved me.

Now, I teach others to do the same.

My Life Now

I live along the mighty Mississippi in Iowa, where I juggle life as a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist, a caregiver to my elderly parents, a mother to three amazing adult children, and a proud Grandmama to small, precious gifts.

I bring over two decades of experience in finance, alongside my passion for storytelling, art, blogging, and podcasting. Through this platform, I share the real, raw, redeemed parts of my life, so you know healing is possible.

No Going Back — Only Forward

We can’t rewrite the past, and replaying regrets, whether they’re yours or someone else’s, will only keep you trapped in a story that no longer serves your healing.

Soul Hygiene is about facing what’s buried.
What you’ve avoided.
What you’ve suppressed or justified.

It’s not just about healing, it’s about accountability.
The truth?
We are often our own worst enemies. But we don’t have to live that way forever.

You don’t have to carry regret your whole life.
You don’t have to stay stuck in a cycle of pain or victimhood.
You can heal. You can take your power back, with God beside you.

Through this journey, you’ll learn why I speak with conviction. Why my choices today are shaped by years of soul-scrubbing, surrender, and deep intentional healing.

Starting is hard. In fact, it may be the hardest thing you’ll ever do.
But I promise, because I’ve lived it, it’s worth it.
If you’re willing, I’ll walk with you as you take your first steps.

Why I Do This

Because I know what it’s like to feel invisible.
To cry silently in bathrooms and still show up for everyone else.
To wonder if God still sees you, or if you’ll ever hear Him again.

My mission is to show you that healing isn’t just possible, it’s sacred. Through coaching, writing, retreats, and SoulHygiene tools, I want to give you space; to slow down, reflect, forgive, and rebuild with God at your center.

A Movement of Kindness, Hope, and Wholeness

As founder of SoulHygiene, the upcoming retreat The Souls Sanctuary, and very near future, nonprofit ROK (Revolution of Kindness), I’ve committed my journey to helping others find spiritual strength and emotional clarity.

Whether through a blog post, podcast episode, or a walk in nature, I want to remind you:

Even in life’s darkest moments, God’s light will shine through, bringing courage, healing, and hope.
